Large Loads by Bike

Published by Bob at 9:45 am under daily bicycling

While jump starting my day with a cup of coffee and catching the morning’s news, I saw this commercial for CSX railroad. My question is, don’t bicyclist already know how to move a “ton of goods” without using any fuel?

    I like it…

Of course, if we put a bike on rails, that’d be perfect…

I like seeing bikes hauling stuff. The commercials goal is to promote shipping by train, but I think have bikes in commercials is good visibility. Especially hauling things. Even if it’s exaggerated. It’s not something people are used to seeing in America. Bikes hauling things. Maybe it opens the door to the idea that bikes aren’t just toys.

The fuel cyclist do use, is in growing the food they eat, which is burned while riding. But the bicycle is the most efficient form of transportation there is.
