Bicycle Related Reading

Friday I was home sick, but planning to feel better on Saturday. Feeling better never managed to materialize and after a short ride to the store on Saturday morning, I finally resigned myself to staying home and waiting out the crud. So much for checking out an Xtracycle at the LBS or going to the bookstore.
So what does a person who rides all the time do when they are sick. Read something which is bicycling related. So I finally took the time read The Last Lecture by Professor Randy Pausch, who passed away on July 25, 2008 from pancreatic cancer. I watched the lecture given at Carnegie Mellon University and came away inspired, saddened, and hopeful, all at the same time. And reading the book is something I have wanted to do for some time and finally by being ill, I have the time.
So how is this book bicycling related you may ask? From the introduction of the book:
Because time is precious, and I want to spend all that I can with my kids, I asked Jeffery Zaslow for help. Each day, I ride my bike around my neighborhood, getting exercise crucial for my health. On fifty-three long bike rides, I spoke to Jeff on my cell-phone headset. He then spent countless hours helping to turn my stories–I suppose we could call the fifty-three lectures–into the book that follows.
Thus, this book is related to bicycling. I enjoyed the time illness forced me to take off from riding and focus on something else.

I will have to add this to my to read list.
The other day I chose not to ride my bike to work. One of the main reasons was so I could sit on the metro and have some time to read a book I was working on.
