Plans for Friday

Published by Bob at 1:01 pm under bicycling, community

While talking to a friend and fellow cyclist about what I had planned for my Friday off from work, I mentioned I was going to ride downtown to participate in “breakfast on the bridges” in the morning, then maybe cruise to Powell’s Books afterwards. I was surprised when this person did not know about the “breakfast on the bridges” event hosted by Shift.

Breakfast on the Bridges happens 7:00 – 9:00 am on the last Friday of every month and is located on the west end of the Hawthorne bridge and east end of the Steele bridge. Except for June when they have it every Friday to celebrate PedalPalooza. They serve coffee, pastries, and fun. This is one of those unique Portland community-building bicycling events where all cyclist are invited to join in, meet new people, and volunteer to serve if you have the time.

One of the fun things about living in an area with a sizable contingent of bicycle oriented people is the sense of community and the many events for cyclist.
