The Light of the Moon
Once I leave Portland and cross the Interstate Bridge everything seems to get quite and the pace around me seems to slow.
The temperature was around 70 degrees, the Moon was nearly full, Jupiter shined to it’s left, and the light in the clear sky made for a very pleasant ride home last night. The Moon lit the grounds of Fort Vancouver as I rode through in the quite of the night. So quite. all I could hear was the quite buzz of my chain spinning through the dérailleur, the tires meeting the pavement, and my internal voice with many thoughts.
There is something about riding which brings the thoughts to the surface and in the end everything seems to be more clear. I always enjoy the quite of riding home at night.
